Markham went to see a play The Farmers Wife. It was the happiest 2 hours he has sent. It's a comedy appearing on the American Stage. He hopes to see her if he gets to England. He remembers when she wrote Hudson Maxim about Markhams work.

Hudson Maxim (1853-1927) was an American inventor, mechanical engineer and explosives expert.
